Naan
Naan, a traditional Indian bread known for its soft and fluffy texture, is a popular choice among food enthusiasts.
Ingredients
- 450 gram All purpose flour
- 15 gram Yeast
- ¼ tbsp Sugar
- 2 tbsp warm water
- 1 tbsp Salt
- 150 ml Milk
- 150 ml Yogurt
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 1 tbsp Poppy or Sesame seeds For garnish
Instructions
- Mix the yeast with the sugar and water and leave in a warm place for 15 minutes.
- Sift the flour and salt into a bowl, make a well in the centre and pour in the yeast liquid, milk, yogurt and butter or oil.
- Mix to a smooth dough and knead for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place in a bowl, cover and leave to rise in a warm place for 1-1½hours.
- Knead on a floured surface, then divide in to 6 pieces. Part or roll each piece into an oval.
- Preheat the oven for 5 minutes at 200-degree temperature.
- Place on warmed baking trays and bake for 10 minutes.
- Brush with the melted butter and sprinkle with the poppy or sesame and serve warm.
