The sea beaches of Odisha are incredibly beautiful. The clear blue water stretches endlessly, sometimes quiet and sometimes roaring. The setting sun paints the evening sky a lovely crimson color, while the golden sands are filled with playful children and relaxing couples. With a coastline that spans over 480 km, Odisha is home to some of the most pristine and exotic sea beaches in the world, which are very appealing.

Chandipur Beach, located 16 km from Balasore, is a special place with a unique feature. The sea here moves back about 5 km from the shore during high and low tides, earning it the nickname ‘the vanishing sea’. Visitors can enjoy walking or driving on the seabed when the water recedes. A visit to Chandipur will surely create unforgettable memories.

The calm atmosphere is enhanced by the gentle casuarina trees and the quiet dunes, with the soothing sound of the waves in the background.

Due to its special qualities, the beach is home to a diverse range of plants and animals. It’s common to see a horseshoe crab or red crab wandering around. Although not as popular as Puri or Konark, Chandipur is a favorite spot for local visitors.

Chandipur beach is famous because it is very close to the Defence Research and Development Organisation’s (DRDO) Integrated Test Range. They have launched different types of missiles like Akash, Shaurya, Agni, and Prithvi from there.

November to March is the ideal time to go to Chandipur beach. Many visitors choose to come during this season.
